Description

Serious damage to hearing can, and does, results from exposure to noise on construction sites. All construction and demolition industry employers and those organisation they use have legal obligations both under criminal law and through civil law to know the risks to hearing and for taking the necessary steps to avoid it. This technical note provides the results from a study undertaken by CIRIA for the HSE into plans to reduce noise exposure in construction. It follows the stages of a project’s development and offers guidance on the ways in which noise exposure can be reduced or avoided.
