This publication aims to give detailed guidance to quality system managers employed by construction design service organisations, including consulting engineers, quantity surveyors, design offices and utilities, wishing to prepare and adopt a quality system meeting the requirements of BS 5750-1. It is divided into two parts, part 1 contains background information on quality management to provide information to those new to the subject, while part 2 is intended for use by those managers engaged in developing a quality system. Its structure follows the requirements of the British Standard to reflect the typical progress of a project.
