Tools for measuring and forecasting waste generated on site. Scoping study

Find out how to determine the feasibility of developing a tool or mechanism to measure and forecast the production of waste on construction sites. This study was based on consultation with industry members, a workshop and a review of published data from across Europe. It concludes that there is a need for a waste minimisation tool to help construction practitioners to identify priority waste minimisation plans. It is recommended that the tool should include an electronic element for forecasting waste, a database for industry waste benchmarks, guidelines for developing a waste management plan, and an electronic method for monitoring waste generation.
