Transport infrastructure drainage: condition appraisal and remedial treatment

After a long period of neglect, it is increasingly recognised that an effective drainage asset can significantly enhance the performance and life of other major assets such as the pavement, permanent-way and earthworks. This publication provides guidelines on good practice for the condition appraisal, maintenance and remedial treatment of transportation infrastructure drainage, as well as advice on issues such as inspection, investigation and monitoring, asset management, health and safety and environmental issues. The guide also considers interaction with third party assets, and how transport drainage assets sit in the wider catchment.
