Waste minimisation and recycling in construction - a review

Waste minimisation and recycling are desirable concepts for both environmental and economic reasons. This guide, in two parts, aims to investigation the current state of knowledge (part 1) and to produce guidance for practitioners on how to improve their practices (part 2). It outlines the issues identified and makes recommendations for additional studies so that the objectives of part 2 can be met. The reader is guided through a detailed review of resources, waste, and recycling issues, and then the roles and responsibilities of the parties involved are explained.
