Description
This report, presented in two parts, sets out guidance on water and vapour protection of new and existing basements. It distinguishes between that appropriate to deep and shallow basements, with reference to forms of deep basement construction such as diaphragm and secant walls, contiguous bored piles and shallow basements of concrete, and masonry or steel sheet piling, with illustrative examples of construction types taking account of the control of dampness by appropriate ventilation and heating.
